As a senior development editor at OUP, I was editorial lead for the company’s flagship maths mastery programme for primary schools in the UK, Inspire Maths. The programme was based on Singapore’s established programme ‘My Pals Are Here!’ by renowned Singapore Maths specialist Dr Fong Ho Kheong. It was the first project where I was managing print as well as digital resources.

The programme was not only commercially-successful, but was the subject of an Oxford University study which found that use of the programme had a significantly positive impact on children’s achievement, confidence and engagement.

Some of my main focuses included::

• leading the editorial process for 45 print textbook components to the programme over a 14-month period.

• leading the commissioning and delivery of Inspire Maths Online, which provided digital wraparound support for teachers to deliver the programme.

• collaborating with an team including Dr Fong Ho Kheong and a team of UK primary maths specialists.

• supporting CPD and commercial teams with training and implementation.

• leading the planning and delivery of professional development and commercial films for use with the programme.
