As a senior development editor at OUP, I was editorial lead for the redevelopment of the Interactive Whiteboard tool for OUP’s Numicon primary maths programme. The tool was developed in collaboration with Avallain and won the Primary Content award at the 2018 Bett Awards.

I loved this project - the collaboration and the detailed work it took to maintain alignment with the Numicon pedagogy was awesome to be a part of.

Some of my main focuses included:

• working closely with product and development teams to bring the concrete Numicon Resources to the digital world in an accurate and accessible way.

• ensuring that the tool aligned with the detailed pedagogy of the overall programme.

• providing editorial input into the use of the manipulatives in the programme to inform development choices.
