Working on Wordsmith at Pearson at a time of primary school curriculum change was less ‘dipping a toe’ and more ‘diving head-first’ into the world of primary literacy, and it was a really fun ride. We were a new team, piloting new ways of working, and facing numerous changes of direction as the UK national curriculum took shape.

Some of my main focuses included:

• leading the editorial process for all digital elements of the programme, including interactive whiteboard materials, quizzes and worksheets.

• editorial lead for the spelling and grammar strand of the resource, a new and challenging element of the curriculum change.

• leading the development of an interactive ebook from concept to publication.

• supporting CPD and commercial teams with training and implementation.
